Do you get any runtime errors in the transaction ST22 in the backend system?
You can set an external breakpoint in the OData service in the backend - this might be the best way to troubleshoot this.
Also you can check SAP Notes 2112489/1931620 depending on whether you are using version 1/version 2 of the My Paystubs app.
